The communities of the Umiam basin are agrarian. They possess a great knowledge of traditional farming methods and understand the nuances of the terrain very well. This knowledge needs to be harnessed and promoted with modern and sustainable values.

The SPV Society is involved in immersive and long-term planning to increase livelihoods of the region’s communities by promoting various agricultural and animal husbandry projects at the grassroots. These include the following sub-categories and others.
