Health Projects
The Umiam Basin region in which the SPVS operates currently has access to limited health facilities. There are currently four government-run primary health care centres or PHCs apart from another three in adjoining blocks. The rural setting in the village also contributes to health issues that can be averted – especially the limited sanitation facilities in households.
The Society offers financial assistance and support to the health department and social welfare departments for infrastructure and equipment etc. It is also actively involved in promoting services to improve health care such as sanitation, nutritional programs for children and elderly persons and it supports awareness activities and programs.
